Appalachian Underwriters Inc. (AUI) is excited to announce Maria Gilbert has joined the Brokerage team as a Senior Environmental Broker. She will handle environmental-related business for our brokerage department and is based in New Jersey.  

Maria has been in the insurance industry for 21 years and her background includes work as a Specialty Underwriting Specialist, an Account Executive, and a Senior Broker/Underwriter. Through these experiences, she has become proficient in helping agents match coverage with the risk inherent to the insured’s operations. 

For AUI, Maria will be able to market environmental business opportunities with appropriate carrier matches depending on the operation’s variety of risks. Her management of these relationships will help agents place new business or retain existing accounts.

When not writing accounts, Maria appreciates reading, going to the beach, and spending time with her family and her dog.
