Appalachian Underwriters, Inc. (AUI) is pleased to have received the IBA 5 Star Wholesale Brokers and MGAs 2024 Award. This award is given to MGAs and Brokers that meet their clients’ needs while continually growing in multiple areas of focus. 

An MGA must be successful in a variety of classifications to receive this award. AUI succeeded in the following categories: geographical reach, range of products, technology or automation, technical expertise and product knowledge, and reputation. Each MGA must receive a score of at least 4 out of 5 possible points to receive IBA’s 5 Star recognition. 

AUI has evolved through these listed areas of focus in a multitude of ways, through the introduction of more online features than ever before including AUIdigital.com, Xpress Raters and a variety of new options on the agent quoting platform. Additionally, a wide range of products are provided to AUI’s agents that include Workers’ Compensation, Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, and Brokerage. To improve the agent experience, every territory has a dedicated sales representative available for agents to reach out to. Since debuting in the industry in 1996, AUI has consistently been dubbed the “one-stop shop,” with “Business Made Easy,” for agents.

In partnership with the award, affiliate wholesale partner on the west coast, M.J. Hall & Company, received the 5 Star Wholesale award as well. Reed Rhoden, CIC, TRIP, Assistant Vice President and Senior Broker at M.J. Hall & Company, was recognized for being a Top Specialist Broker and Top Insurance Broker. 

AUI’s previous awards include the IBA 5-Star MGA and Broker Award for the years 2016-2021 & 2022, and the 2018 Business Insurance #5 Largest MGAs/Underwriting Award.
